Health Access

MRNJ’s Health Access program uses a promotora model to ensure immigrant and low-income families are able to access and navigate the health care system, including finding community health services, health care enrollment support, referring and connecting community members to free and low-cost local resources. MRNJ also supports community members to learn their rights in a health care setting.

Our vaccine program has connected hundreds of thousands to vaccination and COVID-19 testing. MRNJ also offers wellness and mental health support groups to ensure community members have access to the additional support they need to manage these challenging times.

NEW MIGRANT WELCOME CENTERS

MRNJ welcomes new migrants through our monthly welcome centers. These centers provide new migrants with a robust array of services, including healthcare enrollment, vaccines, legal orientation clinics for asylum law, as well as access to food, clothing and other services. MRNJ launched the Welcome Center in Elizabeth in partnership with the Union County New Americans Resettlement Ad Hoc Committee. The Welcome Centers are held the last Wednesday of each month from 1-4pm from September through May each year. Welcome Centers are not held in June, July, or August. For information about upcoming welcome centers follow our social media outlets and attend our committee meetings or call 908-368-1196 ext 2016
