Make the Road New Jersey builds the power of immigrant and working class communities of color through transformative education. Annually, our educational programs reach thousands of young people and adults to equip them with vital skills, including college access, adult literacy/ESOL, citizenship preparation and driving class preparation.

Our English and computer literacy classes increase students’ knowledge of their rights, and develop the skills they need to engage civically as well as  secure and retain jobs. Working closely with our in-house legal services providers, our citizenship class instructors help community members apply for and obtain citizenship.  Every year we reach thousands of working class immigrant youth and youth of color with innovative peer-led college access support and educational programming.
